Parliament is scheduled to convene today


Parliament is scheduled to convene today (21) at 10.00 am and it is scheduled to be held from today to the 24th.
Accordingly, time has been set aside to expect oral answers from 10.00 am to 11.00 am every day until next Thursday.
It is reported that the Criminal Procedure Code Amendment Bill and the Civil Procedure Code Amendment Bill are due to be passed without debate today.
In addition, the Industrial Disputes Special Provisions Bill is due to be passed after debate.
The Committee on Public Accounts and the Committee on Public Enterprises are scheduled to meet today and the Ceylon Electricity Board has been summoned to the Committee on Public Enterprises.
The fundamental rights petition filed by businessman Dhammika Perera in the Supreme Court seeking an injunction restraining him from being sworn in as a Member of Parliament is due to be heard further today. (colombotimes.lk)
